Barbara Leona Stankey passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 29, 2020, in Reno, NV, of a heart complication. She has joined her husband of 50 years, Randy, on his Birthday. Barbara was born on Mar 13, 1948 in San Francisco, CA. When her husband left for Vietnam to serve his country, she moved to San Jose, CA to be near her father. Randy and Barbara lived in San Jose for over 30 years-making two more moves. One to Modesto, CA and then retiring to Reno in 2005. Barbara retired from Underwriters Laboratory.
Barbara loved to read, play sudoku, and decorate her home for all holidays. Her passion was gardening. You could find her working in her yard daily and kept a log of each plant. Her yard was beautiful and could be featured in a magazine! In younger years, Barb along with sisters, sisters-in-laws and cousins all took turns hosting many holiday’s and BBQ’s and camping trips. Her all time high of the year was Christmas. This woman, was dedicated to finding the right gifts for all!
Barbara was preceded in death by husband Randy Stankey; father, Leonard Shaw; mother Olive Rondo; and her brother Ronald Shaw. She is survived by her loving daughters, Cindy (Robert) Maddox and Debra (Richard) Miles; along with her grandchildren: Jessica (Michael) Moore, Benjamin (Megan) Miles, Jacob (Lacey Miles), Kelsi Miles, Taylor (Hannah) Martin, and Trevor Maddox.
